Nitrophenols Q 0210Rearrangements During Nitrosodecarboxylation of Isomeric Dibromohydroxybenzoic Acids. -The reaction of sodium 3,5-dibromo-4-and -2-hydroxybenzoates with NaNO2 leads to a mixture of dibromonitrophenols. They result from nitrosodecarboxylation accompanied by rearrangement and followed by oxidation of the nitrosophenols. The mechanism is discussed and confirmed experimentally. -(SHISHKIN, V.
