The present study characterizes the flow of three-dimensional viscoelastic magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) nanofluids flow with entropy generation analysis past an exponentially permeable stretched surface with simultaneous impacts of chemical reaction and heat generation/absorption. The analysis was conducted with additional effects nonlinear thermal radiation and convective heat and mass boundary conditions. Apposite transformations were considered to transform the presented mathematical model to a system of differential equations. Analytical solutions of the proposed model were developed via a well-known homotopy analysis scheme. The numerically calculated values of the dimensionless drag coefficient, local Nusselt number, and mass transfer Nusselt number are presented, with physical insights. The graphs depicting the consequences of numerous parameters on involved distributions with requisite deliberations were also a part of this model. It is seen that the Bejan number is an increasing function of the thermal radiation parameter.
Aim: To determine the incidence, knowledge and practices in patients with acne vulgaris. Study design: Observational (Cross sectional) Place and duration of study: Department of Dermatology, Pak Red Crescent Teaching Hospital, Dina Nath, Kasurfrom 1st Aug, 2021 to 31st Jan 2022. Methodology: A total of 121 patients fulfilling the inclusion criteria were included in the study, written informed consent was taken on spot and responses were recorded on a pre-formed questionnaire. Data was then entered and analyzed using SPSS version 21 software and a P value of < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Out of 121 patients, 85(71%) were females and 35(29%) were males. 55(45%) patients had good knowledge and 66(55%) patients had poor knowledge. Among those having poor knowledge, 57% belong to 12-20 age group, 57% belong to female gender and 75% having poor knowledge were illiterate with a P-value of 0.02 which is statistically significant.Major source of information was family and friends in 65(54%) patients, followed by internet in 28(23%)patients.78% related acne with burning in epigastrium. 40% participants were in favor of using traditional medicine and 28% consulted specialist in 1 year Conclusion: Results of this study conclude that people with Acne in this part of Punjab have very poor knowledge regarding different aspects of Acne and its management. This leads to malpractice and poor management of Acne and is causing harm to the patient’s wellbeing. Educationalprograms and community-based health awareness programs should be arranged to impart knowledge and to remove the misconceptions regarding the Acne and its management. Background: Alopecia Areata (AA), also known as spot baldness is thought to be autoimmune in origin, marked by patchy, non-scarring hair loss. More recently, a strong association between the sufferers of AA and disorders of mood disturbances, anxiety and depression has been noted. Aim: To determination the mean quality of life score in patients with alopecia areata (AA). Study design: Prospective, cross-sectional study. Place and duration: Department of Dermatology, Jinnah Hospital, Lahore from March 2021 to September 2021. Methodology: After ethical approval, we included 124 patients irrespective of their gender aged between 18-60 years presenting with AA in this study after informed consent. Patient’s demographic details were noted. Quality of life was assessed using Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) score. Results: Of the total 125 patients, about 59.2% patients were male and 40.8% females, with a mean of 29.72±11.01 years. The mean duration of disease was 9.45±8.56 months. DLQI score ranged from 2 to 24 with a mean of 6.74±4.60. When stratified, DLQI score was significantly higher among females (p=0.008), those with disease duration >12 months (p=0.000) and severe disease (p=0.024). Conclusion: This study found that AA is associated with deterioration of quality of life of patients and the effect is more marked among female patients and those with more severe and chronic disease. Key-words: alopecia areata, quality of life, dermatology, autoimmune disease
In accordance with Luigi Pirandello's idea of self, this paper intends to reveal the transitory nature of self by stripping off the excessive artifice of physical human existence and the resulting sickness, and also by theorizing that the individuality, identity and normality are mere false edifices. Thereupon, pursuing this claim, the paper proceeds to analyze protagonist of Pirandello's novel, which functions as mouthpiece for philosophical ideas of Pirandello, echoing throughout the selected narrative from vast range of Pirandello's writings. The paper will also be analyzing and presenting all those factors and those certain human behaviors that join together in the construction of self in the light of psychoanalytic theories of Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung and Alfred Adler.
