BACKGROUNDPrimary vaginal cancer represents only 1% to 2% of malignant neoplasm of the female genital tract and squamous cell carcinoma of vagina is most common form of vaginal cancer and is usually restricted to the vagina. Rarely it metastasises to lung, liver or bone. Squamous cell carcinoma and its association with lung abscess have long being recognised. Patients presenting with symptomatic abscess have an associated malignancy in 7% -18% of cases. We report here a case of squamous cell carcinoma of lung secondary to primary vaginal squamous cell carcinoma with superior vena-caval obstruction masquerading as lung abscess.
