Introduction: It is generally accepted that assertiveness and high levels of self-esteem are healthy behavioural qualities for all people to possess. It is well acknowledged that assertiveness is one of the most crucial behavioural characteristics for professional nurses. Aims: The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of assertiveness and self-esteem that are held by nurses that work in a certain hospital Materials and Methods: This research was conducted in a non-experimental setting among Registered Nurses, and a total of sixty of them were chosen through the use of the Simple Random approach. The research was started once approval had been granted by the environment and informed consent had been obtained from the participants. The use of a structured questionnaire allowed for an evaluation of nurses’ assertive behaviour as well as their levels of self-esteem. Statistics, both descriptive and inferential, were applied to the study of and analysis of the data that had been obtained. Result: The findings of this study reveal that the majority of nurses working in hospital settings have a self-esteem that is higher than average, with 60% of them having higher self-esteem than the other 40%, who had an average level of self-esteem. While 63.33 percent of nurses displayed good assertive behaviour and 36.67 percent displayed average assertive behaviour, Conclusion: The study came to the conclusion that the majority of the nurses had a high or medium degree of self-esteem while they were working in their separate settings, and that their behaviour was also found to be forceful.
Background: Present research study was conducted to identify prevalence of depression among undergraduate nursing students because it will help to prevention and promotion of their mental health that can result in good quality life in view physical, mental and social wellbeing.Objective: Research study was conducted with objective oassess depression among undergraduate nursing students.Methodology: Cross sectional research descriptive design and exploratory approach was used to depression with PHQ9 scale among 100 undergraduate nursing students of Krishna Institute of Nursing Sciences Karad which was selected by non-probability convenient sampling technique. Samples were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Formal ethical permission was received from Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Deemed To Be University Karad. Before collecting the data formal inform and written consent was taken from students to conduct study on them. Data analysis was done with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics.Result: Result of present study reveals that 20% suffering with Minimal depression, 35% suffering with Mild depression, 10% suffering with Moderate depression, 17% suffering with moderately severe depression and 18% suffering with severe depression.Conclusion: Research reveals results that undergraduate aresufferings with Mild depression some planning of some intervention should be done and it should be implement to reduce depression and increase overall performance and health status.
Stress is a component of students' lives, and it can impair their ability to manage the academic rigours of college life. Their regular labour presents numerous obstacles, resulting in tension. Several studies indicate that there is an immediate need to analyse the influence of the present pandemic scenario on the mental health and well-being of students, which justifies conducting such research in multiple Indian states, including Maharashtra. Purpose of the study: The purpose of the study was to determine the prevalence of depression among patients with chronic renal disease and the relationship between depression prevalence and chosen sociodemographic characteristics. 300 nursing students were enrolled in the current study. It was a descriptive cross-sectional study design. In this investigation, a convenient sampling strategy was adopted. The research was conducted at the Karad Krishna Institute of Nursing Sciences. Utilizing the perceived stress scale, the depression was evaluated. Using descriptive and inferential statistics, the acquired data were evaluated and analysed.56.66% of the students in the present study had moderate stress, 26.33 % had high stress, and only 17% of the participants had a low stress level. The data indicate that nursing students had a moderate amount of stress due to the covid scenario.
