PbZr0.95Ti0.05O3 thin film is the best electrocaloric effect material which has cooling ΔT per unit field (MV m−1) about 0.254 under electric field shift ΔE = 30 kV cm−1 at Curie temperature Tc = 222 °C [A. S. Mischenko, Q. Zhang, J. F. Scott, R. W. Whatmore, N. D. Mathur, Science 311, 1270 (2006)]. Here, it is shown that an EC effect due to applied electric field shift parallel to the c-axis in SrxBa1−xNb2O6 single crystals thin film has a value of cooling per unit field larger than PbZr0.95Ti0.05O3 thin film. Furthermore, SrxBa1−xNb2O6 single crystals have Curie temperature Tc closer to room temperature.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
