Preparation of Mg2Ni Base Alloy by the Combination of Mechanical Alloying and Heat Treatment at Low Temperature. -Mechanical alloying of mixed Mg and Ni powders for 160 and 200 h followed by heating 20 h under vacuum at 300 • C yields pure Mg2Ni phases. Several ternary Mg2Ni1-xM alloys such as Mg2Ni0.7Co0.3 are prepared under similar conditions.
