The writing of this paper aims to describe how to process tecnologi digital-based collections, to describe how to manage information technology-based technology services, describing what are the facilities and infrastructure of technology library-based management at the Padang 1 Public High School Library. Data was collected through observation and interviews with librarians and visitors at the Padang 1 Public High School Library. Data analysis was carried out descriptively. Based on the discussion described above, it can be concluded that First, digital-based collection processing is processing physical collections in the form of systematic collection of collections ranging from checking library materials to compiling books on a shelf, processing book collections into digital collections using SLiMS applications, processing physical data collection of digital-based books by transferring media collections of books to digital-based collections by using a scanner machine. Second, the management of technology-based information services, namely the creation of membership cards, on the membership card library has information about member identities, member names, identity numbers, addresses and telephone numbers of users, information search services, application of corner literacy services. Third, library-based infrastructure management tools, namely infrastructure literacy corner bookshelves provided by schools, the application of barcode scanners, library building infrastructure that is quite extensive as a forum for educational information services in libraries, television facilities as learning media for students in Padang 1 Public High School and internet-connected computer facilities.Keywords: management; processing; technology
The purpose of writing this paper is (1) Describe how the librarian's code of ethics is implemented in the Tanah Datar District Public Library; (2) Knowing the relationship between librarians and visitors in the Tanah Datar District Public Library; (3) Describe the relationship between librarians and fellow librarians in the Tanah Datar District Public Library; (4) Knowing the relationship between librarians and their service to libraries in the Tanah Datar District Public Library; (5) Knowing the relationship between librarians working in the Tanah Datar District Public Library and professional organizations; (6) Describe the relationship of librarians working in the Tanah Datar District Public Library with the community in the library. Writing this paper uses descriptive research methods. Data is collected based on interviews with librarians and visitors. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded as follows. First in achieving excellence librarians participate in activities in the library field. Librarians consider decisions professionally by choosing activities about library science. The advantage gained by librarians in serving users is inner satisfaction, lots of acquaintances and motivation to read. Second, librarians serve visitors who come to the library fairly. Scientific works can only be read in the library. Third, librarians achieve excellence in the profession by attending library science training. In establishing relationships with colleagues in the library, a small number of librarians have not been able to establish good relationships with colleagues in the library and question the differences that occur. Fourth, librarians attend training whose knowledge can be utilized for library development. Librarians collaborate with reading parks, and all types of libraries. Fifth, librarians never pay any fees in the library because the activities to be carried out at the library are funded by the local government. Most librarians can distinguish between personal life views and professional needs. Sixth, librarians work with communities in library fields such as literacy tree houses and reading parks established by students. Librarians contribute to the development of culture in the community in the form of a mobile library that can be utilized by the community.Keywords: implementation; librarians; code of ethics.
Information search is important in supporting the activity of “Tri Dharma PerguruanTinggi”. Student information search results are often found to be very similar to statementsin the reference used. Skills in the use of information reflect the understandingof college librarians against information literacy. The research method used in compilingthis article is by qualitative research. In this research used information tracingmodel with stages namely: starting, chaining, browsing, differentiating, monitoring,extracting, verifying, and ending. The study was conducted on 143 users from StateUniversity of Padang (UNP) and University of Andalas (Unand). The results showedthat the lecturer is an important source of information for the user to know the initialreference that will be used in the completion of academic tasks. In addition, collegelibrarians have a high dependence on internet resources. In terms of the formulationof information retrieval results, some readers use the full statement in reference. The purpose of this paper is to describe how the stages of archival storage using the E-Archive application in the PT Semen Padang Archive Unit. describe how the stages of discovery of archives by using the E-Archive application in the PT Semen Padang Archive Unit. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded as follows. 1) Stages of archival storage using the E-Archive application at the Kerasipan Union PT Semen Padang, (a) preparing official letters or manuscripts that will be provided, (b) scanning scripts or letters, (c) creating folders on the computer as a repository for scanned letters or official scripts, (d) creating hyperlinks, namely linking the list of archives with the results of the scan, making complete administration of the media expert, consisting of, decree, minutes of approval of the transfer of media, minutes of legalization of transfer of media, list of archives suggested by media experts, and list of archives over media. 2) The stages of finding an archive using the E-Archive application in the PT Semen Padang Archive Unit are by (1) determining the types of letters needed, (2) searching for codes based on names or titles that have been indexed in the E-Archives application, after entering the title or code you want to find, the subject of the archive that you want to use appears.Keywords: E-Arhcive, storage.
This study aims to describe: (1) writers’ quotation in Jurnal “Suluah” published by Balai Pelestarian Sejarah dan Nilai Tradisional Padang, (2) characteristics of literatures quoted by writers, and (3) authorship pattern. Quotation analysis method is used to study the relation between quoting documents and the documents quoted. The object of this study is the publications in Jurnal Suluah in 2001-2-12.The research finds that: (1) writers’ quotation pattern based on article contribution and the number of quotations in articles is 155 articles and 1607 quotations. In average, one article quotes ten documents from various forms of sources. (2) Characteristics of literatures quoted by writers based on genre, year, and age of literatures are as follows: (a) the most contributing document in article writing is book, achieving 1316 quotations; (b) the year span of documents quoted is from 1827 to 2010; and (c) the age of the most cited documents is those published in the last ten years (2001-2010) as much as 35%; (c) the pattern of authorship is that the most cited writer is Koentjaraningrat with 37 citations. The rate of collaborations of the author is very low, because 97% of articles are written by a single author and only 3% are multiple authors.Keywords: scientific articles quotation, Minangkabau study, Jurnal Suluah
