The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using youtube media based on various approaches in improving the learning motivation of English learners. This research is a classroom action research. Data collection techniques used in this study consisted of observations and questionnaires. The subjects in this study were 35 people. This research was carried out in two cycles, each meeting held two meetings. In the initial test, the average learning motivation was 33.74, in the first cycle was 41.25 and in the second cycle was 48.28. Therefore, if we compare it from the initial test to the second cycle test. There is an increase of 14.54. This shows that the use of youtube media has an effect on increasing students' motivation to learn English.
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memperoleh data dan informasi tentang kemampuan membaca memahami bahasa Jerman siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan Quasi-eksperimen.Populasi penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Bontonompo Kabupaten Gowa yang terdiri dari 8 kelas.Untuk menentukan sampel teknik yang digunakan yaitu sampel acak (Random Sampling). Jumlah sampel adalah 2 kelas yaitu kelas XI IPA 1 dengan 27 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 2 dengan 27 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui teks kemampuan membaca memahami. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji-t menunjukkan bahwa thitung 14,5> ttabel 2,007. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode pembelajaran tutor sebaya (Peer-Teaching) efektif dalam kemampuan membaca memahami bahasa Jerman siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Bontonompo Kabupaten Gowa.
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memerolehnformasi tentang keefektifan teknik Brainstorming dalam keterampilan menulis karangan bahasa Jerman. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Quasi-eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Sungguminasa Kabupaten Gowa yang terdiri dari 9 kelas yang berjumlah 315 siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini random sampling yakni XI IPA 2 yang berjumlah 35 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas XI IPA 1 yang berjumlah 35 siswa. Pengumpulan data melalui tes keterampilan menulis karangan. Data dianalasis menggunakan analisis Uji-t. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa th 5,81 > tt 1,998. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknik Brainstorming efektf dalam keterampilan menulis karangan bahasa Jerman siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Sungguminasa Kabupaten Gowa.
During school from home, students need positive reinforcement both from parents and teachers to improve or trigger their positive behavior. This study aimed to identify the intensity of verbal positive reinforcement given by teachers to students during school from home. It was a mix-method study by involving 310 elementary school teachers as respondents (41.29 % males, 58.71% females). The intensity of positive reinforcement was measured using an instrument developed from the basic theory of positive reinforcement by Skinner (1953) and Schakel & Lyon (1984) and information collected from interviews with teachers. The instrument consisted of 7 kinds of verbal positive reinforcement that can be given by teachers during school from home. The findings indicated that during school from home, teachers tended to give less verbal positive reinforcement to students. Teachers' lack of understanding about the importance to give positive reinforcement during school from home was the main factor leading to the condition. Besides that, teachers did not understand that the verbal positive reinforcement can be delivered both in oral and written forms. Another finding shows that female teachers more often gave positive reinforcement than males. The kind of positive reinforcement given by these two different genders was also different.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of foreign language learning material development based on the semantic feature analysis model in improving student's learning achievement in English writing and translation subject. This study used classroom action research approach developed by Elliot. Data was collected by using translation test. The total of participants was 45 students who were students Department of English Literature. The data analysis technique used consisted of descriptive statistics and paired sample t-test. This model was implemented during 6 meetings. The result showed that there was a significant increase on the student's learning achievement both in writing class and translation class. It was proved through paired sample t test analysis result which showed that sig. value (0.00) is lower than 0.05 (significance standard). It proved that SFA model can be used as one of effective models in foreign language learning and writing.
