In his article Extreme poverty first: An argument on the equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine in Peru, 1 Carlos Yabar (2023) makes an admirable case for prioritizing the extremely poor within vaccination schemes. His main point, with which we wholeheartedly agree, is that the extremely poor are a manylayered vulnerable group (they are stigmatized, and suffer from unequal access to quality food and health, shelter, justice, and so on).
