Design is deeply related to industrial and innovation culture. This bond opens the possibility for design to be an active force in the preservation of immaterial heritage, considering that design is a tie-in element capable of connecting people and businesses in most diverse occasions. In Brazil, we notice a vast wealth of knowledge and crafts, which are disappearing due to lack of registration and interest (personal and economic) in the maintenance of the production activity. We exemplify, through the current situation in the productive territory of sheep wool of Campo Redondo, Itamonte, Minas Gerais state, how design could work with people of the territory to preserve and document the heritage, alongside bringing the awareness and repositioning of their products in the market.
