La amiloidosis nodular es la forma menos frecuente de amiloidosis cutánea primaria localizada. Se manifiesta en la forma de nódulos o placas infiltrados, asintomáticos, simples o múltiples, amarillentos, marrones o rojizos, ubicados por lo general en la región facial, genitales, tronco y extremidades. La ulceración secundaria es rara. En ausencia de una causa subyacente tratable, el tratamiento de esta enfermedad resulta un desafío terapéutico. Se comunica un caso clínico inusual de amiloidosis nodular en una mujer de 78 años con una lesión nodular gigante, ulcerada y dolorosa en la pierna derecha.
