The purpose of the service activity is to provide information and education to the public about dagusibu, P3K at home and rational use of antibiotics. Health counseling is needed by the community because it is known that the community. The GKSO Movement (Conscious Family Movement) is a program launched by the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (IAI) which is an effort to improve public understanding of medicines through dissemination of medicines, Dagusibu (Get, Use, Save and Dispose) medical equipment, medicine first aid treatment, and knowledge of antibiotics. The service partner, a resident of RT 08 RW 14, lacks awareness in maintaining cleanliness and still does not know the symptoms caused by an illness. The results of dedication show that citizens gain new knowledge and understand the material provided as a purpose of service
Background: Dyspnea and physiological changes are clinical manifestations of Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) due to respiratory failure. Deep breathing exercise combined with active range of motion increases respiratory muscles and blood circulation. As a result, it reduces breathing effort and decreases blood pressure.Purpose: This research aimed to analyze the influence of deep breathing exercise and active range of motion (ROM) on the physiological response of CHF patientsMethods: This study used a quasi-experiment with pretest-posttest control group design recruiting 32 respondents by stratified random sampling technique. The intervention was done 3 times a day for 3 days. Deep breathing exercise was carried out for thirty times and continued with active range of motion for five times each movement. Digital sphygmomanometer and digital watch were used as measuring instruments. Data were analyzed using independent and paired t-test.Result: The results showed that there were significant differences in the systole (p=0.000), diastole (p=0.000) and respiratory rates (p=0.003) after the intervention compared to the control group. There was also a significant difference in systolic blood pressure between the intervention and the control group (p=0.003). However, no significant difference in diastole and respiratory rates was found. Conclusion: Deep breathing exercise combined with an active range of motion decreases the systole in CHF patients. Further research is expected to lengthen the time of intervention to allow better significance.
Determinant of Traditional ContraceptiveUse in East Java. The 2002 showed an increasing percentage of traditional contraceptive users in Indonesia, including in East Java from 2.8% to 6.7%. This study aimed to analyze the determinants of traditional contraceptive use in East Java. This study was a non-randomized study with cross sectional design using 2017 IDHS secondary data. The sample study was 5,583 married reproductive age women aged 19-49 years from the 2017 IDHS data of East Java. Data were analyzed by multiple logistic regression. The determinant factors of traditional contraceptive use in 2017 IDHS data of East Java were Method Information Index (p = 0,000), age of woman (p = 0,025), education (p = 0,000), place of residence (0,004), knowledge of woman's fertile period (p = 0,006), and information from TV (p = 0.005). While information from radio (0.142) was not related to the use of traditional contraceptives. A policy on the use of modern contraceptives is needed, which is targeted and focused on women of childbearing age married with a higher education background in urban areas. Optimizing the role of family planning counselors to increase family planning knowledge is very important in increasing the use of modern contraceptives in East Java.
Background: Perineal laceration during childbirth is very common among mothers; however some of them may suffer from its complication if not treated properly. Objective: To prove the effectiveness of breast milk as an alternative topical ingredient in the treatment of perineal wound in postpartum mothers. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study with non-equivalent control group posttest only design. There were 30 respondents selected in this study, with 15 assigned in the intervention and control group. Accidental sampling was used to select the samples with the criteria that the respondents had perineal laceration in level 1 and 2. Data were analzed using Mann Whitney test. Results: Effective wound healing process can be seen in the intervention group from 80% of poor category in 6-10 hours (1st period) of postpartum became 86.7% of good category in 7 days of postpartum (4th period). Different from the control group that showed the slow progress of wound healing, which was 86.7% of poor category in the 1st period to only 33.3% of good category in the 4th period. Mann Whitney test showed that there was a significant mean difference of the perineal wound healing process between the intervention group (11.23) and the control group (19.77) with p-value 0.002 (<0.05).Conclusion: Breast milk was more effective than povidone iodine in the treatment of perineal wound. It is suggested for health workers, especially midwife to apply this intervention to accelerate the healing of perineal wound in midwifery care.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
