The syntheses of two new NP 3 ligands containing propylene linkages, prNP 3 (1) = N(CH 2 CH 2 CH 2 PPh 2 ) 3 and prPNetP 2 (2) = (Ph 2 PCH 2 CH 2 CH 2 )N(CH 2 CH 2 PPh 2 ) 2 are reported. Using these ligands, bis(dinitrogen) complexes of molybdenum are synthesized and characterized by IR and NMR spectroscopy. The new systems are com-83 pared with the literature-known complex [Mo(N 2 ) 2 (NP 3 )] (3) supported by the ligand NP 3 [NP 3 = N(CH 2 CH 2 PPh 2 ) 3 ], which only contains ethylene linkages. Application of the new ligand reduces the symmetry of the complex and leads to the occurrence of different isomers.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
