SummarySubject and purpose of work: The aim of the conducted research and analyzes was the attempt to assess the impact of selected factors over tourist activity of people with disabilities and factors related to the immediate environment of people with disabilitiesMaterials and methods: A total of 5 000 respondents were subjected to the quantitative research. Participants of the research were adults with legally recognized disabilities. In the research, there was used the method of a diagnostic survey.Results: Tourist activity of disabled people living in rural areas in Poland concerns only about 50% of respondents. Leaving the place of permanent residence in a free time is the most often declared by young and middle-aged people with higher, secondary and post-secondary education, professionally active, married people with mental and sensory disabilities.Conclusions: Factors stimulating participation in tourism are the level of education and professional activity of respondents. In the assessment of respondents the important factor is also a general family situation.
Theoretical background: The development of new technologies has a considerable impact on the functioning of numerous service industries. The market of hotel services largely draws from the achievements of the digital revolution. Purpose of the article: The aim of the article is to present modern ICT solutions used in the hotel industry and to present the opinions of the owners of year-round accommodation facilities in the Lublin voivodeship on the impact of technological environment factors on the development of their companies. Research methods: To achieve the article's aim, source materials are analysed concerning the subject matter and the findings from the author's own study, conducted in April and May 2018 using the CATI method. Main findings: Entrepreneurs who participated in the study see the potential of the Internet as a technical means which facilitates access to potential customers. An alarming finding of the study is the low level of awareness among the respondents as to the significance of modern technological solutions which are essential for the hotel product and are the source of companies' competitive advantage.
Subject and purpose of the work: Working time management has become particularly relevant by mid-20th century. It has now become one of the top areas of interest for scientists who conduct research on management. This study is designed to review and evaluate selected new forms of work organization in the reality of today’s digital economy. Materials and methods: This research was based on literature review covering scientific publications exploring working time management and forms of work organization in the digital economy. A descriptive method was used. Results: The latest information technologies, computerization and digitization, the use of mobile devices and smartphones, and advanced geolocation technologies add a new dimension to the modern types and methods of working time management. The development of the digital economy accelerates and drives the transformation of the labor market, promoting the uptake of flexible employment systems, which produces multiple types of remuneration and working time systems, and leads to a variety of forms of employment contracts and their reduced duration. Conclusions: Digital technology creates a virtual labor market which is dominated by informal and flexible forms of employment based on outsourcing programs, individual orders, and fixed deadlines with are not accompanied by any regulations of the contractor’s working time. Under these conditions, flexibility and multifunctionality, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions are the key features that make a particular employee competitive.
SummarySubject and purpose of work: The objective of this article was to present opinions of owners of all-year-round accommodation facilities operating within the area of the Lublin Voivodeship with regards to the meaning and manner of impacting on the development of enterprises by technological environment factors.Materials and methods: In April and May of 2018 field research was realized by means of CAT method within the area of Lublin Voivodeship. The research covered 110 economic entities.Results: The most numerous group of research participants - more than 80% considered the development of Internet as a rather contributing or definitely contributing to the growth of their economic entities. More than 60% of research participants noted that growth of computer systems, video and mobile telephones as well as development of transportation networks rather contributed to or definitely contributed to better functioning of accommodation facilities in the area of the Lublin Voivodeship.Conclusions: Vast majority of entrepreneurs considered factors of technological environment, specified during research as contributing and definitely contributing to the development of Lublin accommodation facilities. The impact of Internet seems especially important. The type of commune does not differentiate in any statistically significant manner the entrepreneurs’ assesment regarding the impact related to the factors of technological environment on the growth of their companies.
