Here, we present the esterification of succinic acid with n-butanol to produce diesters, one of the most important biofuel additives, over 12-tungstophosphoric acid anchored to zeolite HY. An extensive optimization study was performed, accumulating 92% conversion with 60% diester selectivity, highlighting the synergistic impact of active species and support. The sustainability of the catalyst was confirmed through regeneration as well as viability toward other alcohols, asserting the industrial relevancy.
