A new layered organic-inorganic material based on λ-Zirconium phosphate (λ-ZrP) and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (H 4 Y) has been prepared. The thermal analyses, X-ray diffractometry and FT-IR spectrophotometry confirm the introduction of H 4 Y inside the interlayer gallery of λ-ZrP. The pristine λ-ZrP and its new polyaminocarboxylic acid functionalized derivative (λ-ZrPH 2 Y) exhibit high potential for the application in the area of hard water treatment, where their Ca 2+ uptake capacities are found to be 32.0 and 40.4 mg Ca 2+ per gram of λ-solid, respectively.
The surface of Zn–Al-chloride LDH microcrystals (LDH = Layered Double Hydroxides) was activated by grafting a redox active catechol bearing bis-phosphonate obtained by dopamine derivatization.
The antacid effectiveness and kinetic behaviour of three aluminium hydroxide gels, synthesized at different values of pH of precipitation, have been studied with the pH-Stat technique. Results indicate that these properties improve with increasing pH of precipitation and are structure related. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
