Twin pregnancy in a patient with arnold-chiari malformation type I Associated with syringomyeliaAbstract Syringomyelia is a rare neurological disease with a prevalence of approximately one per 100,000 people; its association with pregnancy is unusual. We present a rare case in which a patient with Arnold-Chiari type I malformation, syringomyelia, and a twin pregnancy underwent an elective cesarean section at 39 weeks under general anesthesia. Because there have been few published reports of pregnancy in patients with syringomyelia and Arnold-Chiari type I malformation, evidence is scarce on the management of these patients. Therefore, coordinated decisions involving several medical specialties is recommended.
