Houseplants are everywhere. They are faithful companions in your own home, provide a hobby and at the same time are good for health. They have gained such popularity that they now transform even the smallest apartments into jungle-like spaces. As this book shows, the renaissance of houseplants is due in part to our constant search for deceleration in a late modern age characterised by rapid processes of change. The trend of urban indoor jungles is also indicative of the constantly changing relationship between humans and nature and sheds light on the influence of social media on the design of living spaces.
