The purpose of this review was to highlight the most frequent biological indicators used to estimate the microbiological quality of drinking and recreational water. It was observed that the incorporation of other microbiological indicators should be considered to strengthen the decision-making process on water quality management and guarantee its safe consumption in recreational activities.
El objetivo del presente artículo es analizar con de manera cuantitativa la dinámica y tendencias regionales del turismo de salud a nivel global. Se presentan las principales variables y tendencias que han consolidado un sector innovador caracterizado por la relación de diferentes sectores en la oferta del servicio final. La metodología utilizada se basa en la revisión bibliográfica de artículos científicos, de revisión e informes de consultoras sobre dinámicas regionales del turismo de salud. Como resultado se evidencia que el sector se encuentra en pleno aumento de la demanda de turistas internacional y que los principales oferentes se encuentran en proceso de especialización de los servicios médico-turísticos ofrecidos. También se concluye que los principales oferentes de servicios turísticos de salud en diferentes continentes cuentan con ventajas competitivas que permite la oferta de servicios diversos según la demanda del turista.
This study analyzes whether hospitals accredited by the Joint Commission International in outpatient medical care protocols located in Colombia achieve a higher quality perception from foreign patients compared to others treated in a non-accredited one. A t-test with Welch correction, chi-square test, correlation coefficient of Tau Kendall, pre-test, post-test, complementary questionnaire and a 2 focus groups were used in 178 foreign patients. It was observed that patients treated in accredited hospitals had a higher quality perception than the non-accredited group. However, it was found that an unbalanced application of the 3 variables negatively alters quality judgment. Findings contributes to understanding the Colombian medical tourism in depth using non-conventional instruments.
