Purpose: To study and compare the sagittal condylar angles set on a Hanau articulator using intra-oral protrusive records to angles found using a panoramic radiographic image in male and female dentulous patients. Materials and Methods: A total of 20 subjects (10 male and 10 female) Aged between 21 to 30 years, free of signs and symptoms of temporomandibular joint disorders and with intact dentition were selected. Impressions were made using irreversible hydrocolloid and all dental stone casts (type-III), were mounted on a Hanau articulator using a spring bow type of face bow. For all patients, the protrusive records were made with polyether bite registration paste when the mandible was moved forward by approximately 4-6 mm, using compound jig. All procedures for

Insufficient knowledge of medical chemicals and their improper use have destructive effects. Accidental exposure to chemicals on facial tissue may result in large facial defect. For ages the tradition of piercing nose is common but improper use of unknown chemical for piercing has deleterious effect. Mostly rhinectomy defects are acquired caused by trauma or malignant diseases. Prosthetic rehabilitation is the preferred treatment of choice for any large rhinectomy defects as medical and surgical interventions are ineffective in developing esthetics. Main concern with the prosthesis for such defects is retention. This article describes rehabilitation of a patient with large size nasal defect created by chemical burn in childhood during piercing. Implant retained customized silicone nasal prosthesis was fabricated using simple O-ring attachments and innovative modified polyamide acrylic resin substructure acting as skeleton.
Aim and Objectives: This study is determined the vertical distance between lingual frenum and incisal edge of mandibular central incisors in dentulous subject and edentulous denture wearer subjects and their variation in different age groups and sex. Materials and Methods: This study involved 120 dentulous subjects (60 men, 60 women) and 20 complete denture wearers. Depending upon the age, the dentulous subjects were divided into three groups. Each group consisted of 40 subjects (20 men, 20 women). Group I consisted of 20-30 yr age, group II 30-4 0yr age and group III consisted of more than 40 yr age. Mandibular impressions of dentulous and denture wearers were made with irreversible hydrocolloid and cast retrieved. The vertical distance between the anterior attachment of lingual frenum and incisal edges of the mandibular central incisors for both the dentulous and edentulous subjects was measured on the casts with the help of dental surveyor. Data were tabulated and stastically analysed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
