The paper presents a case study of the practical use of Deming cycle in a manufacturing company, from the plastics processing industry, from the sector of small and medium-sized enterprises. The paper is a study of literature in the field of continuous improvement and characterized by a cycle of continuous improvement, called the Deming cycle, or PDCA cycle. This cycle was used as a solution to quality problems which occurred during production of photo frames: discolorations and scorches on the surface of the frame. When measures were introduced to reduce the number of nonconformities, a decrease by more than 60% was observed.

This chapter presents the concept of standardization. Presented research subject-central lamp, which is part of the car's external illumination. With BOST questionnaire -management principles Toyota's questions were analyzed E6 area associated with the six Toyota management principle.

In the paper basic concepts of Lean Manufacturing were presented. A company specializing in the development of vehicle dynamics, driver assistance systems, brake systems, seat belt sand electronics technology was characterized. The company is engaged in designing and manufacturing world-class products for the automotive market. The Lean tools used in the production hall, such as Yamazumi chart, machine motion analysis, MTM method and timing, were presented.

Streszczenie: W rozdziale zaprezentowano przedsiębiorstwo produkujące konstrukcje spawane dla maszyn, m.in. wysięgniki. Krótko przedstawiono wysięgnik oraz jego proces wytwórczy. W części badawczej zaprezentowano użycie dwóch tradycyjnych narzędzi zarządzania jakością: diagramu Ishikawy i diagramu Pareto-Lorenza. Diagram Ishikawy zastosowano w celu identyfikacji grup przyczyn mogących wpływać na niezgodności wysięgnika, natomiast diagram Pareto-Lorenza stworzono, aby zbadać, które niezgodności wysięgnika występują najczęściej i które należy wyeliminować w pierwszej kolejności. W części badawczej zaprezentowano również praktyczne zastosowanie metody FMEA, za pomocą której zidentyfikowano potencjalne niezgodności wysięgników, a także określono liczby priorytetowe i zaproponowano działania zapobiegawcze i korygujące.

In the chapter the company operating in the plastic industry was presented. The car counter case to Fiat was the main subject. The production process of the research product depicted technologically was presented. Hierarchy of the nonconformities with use of Pareto-Lorenz diagram was made.
