A multilayer birefringent reflective polarizer film is described. This film has high refractive index difference between the birefringent and isotropic layers in the stretch direction and substantially matched indices in the remaining orthogonal axes. The film has high polarizing efficiency, excellent color uniformity and is thinner than conventional reflective polarizers.
A microlens collimation has been manufactured using a roll‐to‐roll process to enable large‐area image sensing applications. This film was made with 3M proprietary precision micro‐replication process. Measurement techniques and a companion NIR filter for ambient light rejection are also discussed in this paper.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
