Currently, container shipping plays an important role in international logistics. Terminals handle containers between different modes of transport and are a key element in supply chains. The quality of transport services, in general, depends on the technical and technological parameters of container terminals. At the same time, the task is to optimize the operating mode of the container terminal to reduce logistics costs. This article presents the results of a study of the traffic flows of terminals adjacent to the Tashkent regional railway junction stations, obtained based on timing observations on the unloading of containers arriving at the terminal by road for shipment by container trains. Based on these observations, the regularities of the distribution of the probabilities of the arrival of containers at the terminal and the time of servicing vehicles by a gantry crane were established. With the help of the established patterns, the main indicators were selected that characterize the quality of the container terminal functioning. A mathematical model has been developed and an algorithm for finding the optimal operating mode of a container terminal when forming a container block train. As the results of calculations have shown, the volume of logistics costs for the operation of a container terminal depends on the type and quantity of used handling equipment and the number of supply of fitting wagons to loading and unloading routes.
Development of proposals for adapting the existing methodology for calculating the available throughput to the operating conditions of the railways of Uzbekistan, taking into account the factors that ensure traffic safety when passing high-speed passenger trains. Methods: Grapho-analytical approaches and a comparative analysis method were used to determine the throughput of railway lines with mixed train traffic. Results: The main factors influencing the capacity of lines, advantages and disadvantages for each existing method for determining the capacity of railway lines are given. To assess the quality of transportation processes on railway lines, experimental train schedules were constructed. Based on the analysis of their indicators, a formula was proposed for calculating the throughput on double-track lines when passing high-speed passenger trains. Practical significance: The application of the proposed methodology improves the calculations of the performance indicators of sections with an unparalleled train schedule.

The article considers the issues of impact of high-speed passenger traffic on the sections of JSC “Uzbekiston Temir Yillari” on removal of freight trains from the traffic schedule, the mutual aerodynamic influence of trains moving on adjacent tracks is investigated. In order to increase the tourist attractiveness of the republic and provide high-quality transport services to the population, it is planned to significantly increase the volume of passenger transportation by high-speed electric trains Afrosiyob. In the conditions of the projected increase in the size of freight traffic, this may lead to difficulties in passing trains through sections. In order to effectively use the capacity of the sections, in compliance with the conditions for ensuring the safety of train traffic, the possibility of simultaneous passage of freight trains of a passing or oncoming direction along the second main track when moving along the section of the Afrosiyob high-speed electric train is being considered.
The article considers and analyzes the volume of container cargo transportation in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Trends in the development of container transportation by rail are studied. The research methodology is based on the analysis of the methods of collecting the initial information, as well as the methods of its processing. The main measures for the development and implementation of technical, technological, commercial and organizational measures to increase containerization of cargo transportation are proposed.
