Biases in Behavioral ...; Aims & Backgrounds People with different cultures have different emotional reactions in different urban spaces. Studies have shown that the internal and external characteristics of the environment affect the emotions of individuals from that environment. Hence, the discovery of the relationship between the built environment and emotional aspects and its impact on human behavior is one of the important dimensions in urban planning, but due to the fact that the root of the concept of emotional reactions in the environment is in the field of psychology of the environment and social sciences, there is no method and technique, and in fact, there is no definite model for measuring emotions in the field of urban studies. Therefore, the provision of an operational model for measuring emotions in urban spaces in order to improve the quality of urban design and urban planning policies is fundamentally important and necessary. Due to the lack of related studies in the field of methods and techniques of measuring emotions in urban studies, the aim of this research is to provide an operational model for measuring emotions in urban spaces, using qualitative analysis methods. This model can be a new human-based approach that helps people from different areas of knowledge with a new layer of information (related to emotions) in the planning and designing process to solve mental health problems in cities. Methodology This research is applied in terms of purpose and it is a multiple meta-method case study in terms of its nature and method. Theoretical literature and data collection were done by library and documents. Then, 30 case studies were selected and analyzed from valid studies between 1998 and 2017. Findings Based on this research, 5 main stages for measuring emotions in urban space were identified and categorized and, finally, the process of measuring emotions in urban space was presented in the form of an operational model. Conclusion The concept of urban sentiment can be a new human-centered approach that expresses spatial emotions (field) through the data collection by human and sensor technology and help the experts in the planning and design process as a new layer of information.
Introduction:The new style of urban life has turned public spaces into an area for citizens' widespread and continuous presence so that these spaces can significantly weaken or improve the mental-functional health of citizens through two-way communication. According to the approach of restorative environments, the existence of a set of environmental indicators can lead to the restoration of psychological-functional resources of individuals. The research results indicate that individuals' individual-cultural characteristics are also influential in how citizens perceive and evaluate the quality of recovery and the extent of their interest in space. This study aims to identify the indicators of quality of restoration in urban spaces from citizens' perspectives that can have the most significant impact on reducing stress and the level of interest in urban spaces. This research seeks to provide cognition of local factors affecting the quality of recovery in the city of Mashhad (the second metropolis of Iran) to provide a suitable platform for designers, planners, and executive agencies. Methodology: This paper has collected citizens' views based on a survey strategy and after conducting basic library studies through a specialized photography method and a researcher-made questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS 25 software, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise regression tests. Results:The results show that with the increase of citizens' interest in urban space, restoration quality becomes more unfolded. Conclusion:The indicators of attractiveness, being away, and legibility are also more effective in reducing stress in a significant relationship between citizens' interest in urban spaces and the quality of restoration.

Introduction and Background Failure to protect and rehabilitate inefficient urban areas often results from dissatisfaction and inactivity of people with regard to imitation and non-conformist versions of urban management practices for modernization. The feasibility of urban renaissance projects seems to require the definition of projects that are based on expectations of the people, in the places where they will be driven to develop and run in a timely manner. Aims in order to localize the urban renaissance, the Shahid Hashemi-nejad neighborhood, located in the central area and adjacent to the shrine of the Imam Reza (AS), which nowadays was more exhausted in terms of physical and functional, was considered as a case study. Methodology: For this purpose, applied research was used and data are collected using interviews and library and field research. Data were analyzed using, SWOT, Hierarchical Analysis and the Strategic Priority Assessment Matrix. The present study was carried out in the first step by introducing and prioritizing the indices and indices of the localization of the urban regeneration approach in two stages of the survey, consisting of 15 specialists and expert. After that, 380 residents, adjacent and business people have been chosen to define the strategic position of the plan and effective strategic priorities in increasing the residents' satisfaction with the process of renaissance of the neighborhood. Finally, in order to explain the research findings based on the extraction of urban renaissance indices for the above neighborhood, twelve desirable sites were evaluated as developmental locations using the hierarchical analysis structure and in order to prioritize proposed projects, in line with localization strategies. The Renaissance approach was considered to be six strategic projects. Conclusion Finally, using the priority location-assessment matrix, the projects defined as spatial priorities were matched, and a mid-term plan was presented to carry out strategic projects to stimulate the localization renaissance of the Shahid Hasheminejad Neighborhood. The results indicate that timely implementation of the developed plans includes: ownership , agreement, injection of capital, construction and operation; increasing social status, satisfaction and participation of the residents plays a significant role.
