The basic tests were performed to verify the application of the Geotextile of Three dimensional Reinforced Soil method (G. T. R. S) for the railway's base course.Plate loading test and CBR test were carried out on the top of embankments reinforced by two construction methods, mixing mesh-elements with sand and mixing continuous thread with sand which belong to the G. T. R. S.The results of these tests show that reinforced embankment made by mixing continuous thread with sand has sufficient bearing capacity which meets the JR standard of earth base course. Therefore it is concluded that only continuous thread-reinforced soil is possible to adopt for the railway's base course in case of static condition.
This paper discusses an automatic measurement system used for checking the accuracy of tunnel profile. Such checks, in all work phases from construction to maintenance after completion, requires measurements as well as analysis and assessment of data obtained. This sophisticated system has been developed through high-level automatization of all these tasks (partially robotized). The system has two functions which support the measurement, i) positioning and ii) detection. The capability i) teaches the installation position of the measurement device. This position in a coordinate system is detected by the function ii). These functions detailed here are elements essential for future construction robots.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
