If we could hob steel gears at high speed and full depth in a single pass (for the allowance of machining) using carbide hobs, “Gear Producing” capacity could be remarkably increased. However, the defects with carbide hobs are seen in frequent chipping and expensiveness. Using the comparatively less expensive carbide-tipped hobs, the authors have carried on a number of experiments in terms of the design, the special carbide quality for carbide-tipped hobs, and the improvement in manufacturing the hobs. And here at last we have the developed Carbide Tipped Hob without any chipping. Moreover, the authors have developed a new carbide hobbing machine equipped with a device which absorbs shock and vibration of the cutting blade during hobbing gears. The theme of this research is to introduce the points about the developed mechanical technique of hobbing.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
