Wedding tradition is an important part of the life of the Sambas Malay ethnic. In the implementation of community weddings, many people use plants as supplies for the wedding stages. This research aims to determine the types of plants used by the Sambas Malay tribe in traditional wedding ceremonies. This research was going on September to December 2020. The research method used the snowball sampling. The result shows that obtained 25 species and 19 plant families used in wedding activities. The most widely used plant family of Poaceae dan Zingeberaceae. This research shows that the Sambas Malay ethnic marriage is still preserves the traditions of their ancestors. Each plant used in the traditional wedding ceremony of the Malay Sambas tribe has a specific meaning.
Macroscopic mushrooms are one of the important biodiversity in the ecosystem of forests and human life. Research related to macroscopic mushrooms in West Kalimantan has already been done, but have never done in some areas, which is in the forest of Bukit Danau Peniraman Village of Mempawah regency. This research aims to determine the types of macroscopic mushrooms that exist in the forest of Bukit Danau Peniraman Village of Sungai Pinyuh district, Mempawah regency. Sampling of fungi using exploration methods by exploring the forest according to the transect pathway. The results showed that there were 20 types of macroscopic mushrooms consisting of 5 orders, 13 families, and 17 generas. Fungi that most commonly found came from an order of Polyporales and the fewest orders are the order ofDacrymycetales, the order of Hymenochaetales, and the order of Xylariales. Macroscopic mushrooms found in the forest of Bukit Danau Peniraman Village of Sungai Pinyuh district, Mempawah regency, fungi most commonly grew at substrate of dead tree.
Zingiberaceae is the family of flowering plants commonly known by the people of Indonesia as the Jahejahean. This plant is widely used for many things such as spices, medicine, ornamental plants, cosmetic ingredients, beverage ingredients, hair tonic, etc. The aim of the study is to know Zingiberaceae species diversity in Tembawang Forest, Sumber Karya Village, Teriak District, Bengkayang City, West Kalimantan. The method of the research used exploration with observation in three Tembawang Forest at Sumber Karya Village. The results showed that there were seven species of Zingiberaceae namely E. coccinea, E. elatior, E. nasuta, G. atrosanguinea, H. reticulata, Z. multibracteatum, and Z. zerumbet.
One of the most important stages in the process of transferring in vitro cultured seedlings to their natural environment is the acclimatization stage. The acclimatization stage is a critical period in plant propagation. The factors that most influence the growth of in vitro seedlings in the acclimatization process are suitable planting media and the administration of biostimulants. This study aimed to obtain the best planting medium and type of biostimulant for the growth of black orchid plantlets at the acclimatization stage. The study used a completely randomized design with a factorial pattern with two factors, namely first factor: type of growing media with 5 levels of treatment (wood sawdust, coconut coir, cocopeat, rice husk, sugarcane dregs) and second factor: type of biostimulant (without biostimulants; Moringa oleifera extract; Centella Asiatica extract; and Melastoma malabathricum extract). The results showed that the highest percentage of plantlet survival (100%) in the early stages of acclimatization was shown in plantlets grown on wood sawdust and coconut coir media. At the advanced acclimatization stage, the type of biostimulant significantly affected the parameters of survival percentage, tiller height, average number and width of leaves, and average number and length of roots. Optimal planting medium and biostimulant type for advanced acclimatization orchid growth is a single treatment of wood sawdust media with a tiller survival rate (100%), the highest number of leaves (4.65 strands), most roots (8.4 strands).
