This paper presents infrared sensor for eye tracking system for ophthalmology and truck drivers. System is based on camera and near infrared diode illuminator. We present test results of sensor detection at dierent operating parameters. Tests were chosen so as to see how the sensor behaves in dicult conditions, additionally tested whether long-term operation of the sensor has an impact on the examined person.
The security systems of the wide area objects are dominated by fiber optic sensors, used primarily to perimeter protection as well as to the protection of vast objects such as pipelines. Critical infrastructure objects are not only industrial facilities but also the transmission lines. Authors present the sensor systems compared to sensors for extensive object security currently available on the market. The designed systems, such as double interferometer system as well as more and more popular QKD systems are sensors with distributed sensing field. These systems, described by authors in many publications, are excellent solutions for the protection of wide area infrastructural objects. Presented fiber sensors, besides sabotage detection also offer the possibility of locating the disturbance along many kilometers of the zone. The solution presented in this paper was designed to adapt well known solutions to the physical protection of the transmission line without interfering with the transmitted data. According to the knowledge of potential threats of fiber optic telecommunications, the authors present methods of protecting fiber optics telecommunication cable, and present their own solutions and describe their application possibilities.
Laser photography device is an imaging device developed in the Institute of Optoelectronics, Military University of Technology and it is an example of modern image acquisition device. The laser photography device allows to dene a 3D observation scene thanks to short-time scene illumination and image acquisition method. This device works according to timespatial framing method. In the paper, basics of timespatial framing method are explained. Special attention is given to time parameters of device and their inuence to spatial parameters of registered images. In this paper the laser photography device and results of chosen experiments are presented and described. Experimental results presented in the paper show the potential and possibilities of using the laser photography device as a camera for observation and measurement applications.
Smuggling of drugs and cigarettes in small inflatable boats across border rivers is a serious threat to the EU’s financial interests. Early detection of such threats is challenging due to difficult and changing environmental conditions. This study reports on the automatic detection of small inflatable boats and people in a rough wild terrain in the infrared thermal domain. Three acquisition campaigns were carried out during spring, summer, and fall under various weather conditions. Three deep learning algorithms, namely, YOLOv2, YOLOv3, and Faster R-CNN working with six different feature extraction neural networks were trained and evaluated in terms of performance and processing time. The best performance was achieved with Faster R-CNN with ResNet101, however, processing requires a long time and a powerful graphics processing unit.
