A rescue dig, on a part of the Cojou megalithic alignments at Saint-Just (Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany, France), showed a long and complex fréquentation of the site. It began by a series of large hearths dated between 4940 and 4100 B.C. The standing stones were erected at least in two phases separated by the building of a stone «causeway», itself partly covered by a mound which yelded remains of beakers of spécial interest and a large Early Bronze Age urn, dated 2780-2180 B.C.
This excavation provided also the opportunity of a general survey of the megaliths of this parish, which revealed severely damaged by comparison with the old descriptions.
