R e s u m e nSe presenta una revisión sistemática de literatura que identifica la aplicabilidad de las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones (TIC) en la educación para personas con necesidades educativas especiales (NEE) y cómo ha sido su uso en el fortalecimiento del aprendizaje de esta población. Se identifica la importancia en el uso de software para mejorar la habilidad mental y el desarrollo de tareas, además del uso de hardware para facilitar el intercambio de datos. A partir de esta investigación se refleja la importancia que tiene cada una de las soluciones propuestas y la necesidad de continuar desarrollando herramientas que potencien el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje que a su vez se podría relacionar con el mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de esta población.
