Globally, construction delay is the main factors which have a high impact on countries’ economy and development. The present paper reports an exploratory research study of previous international research into delay factors affecting project delivery. The objective of this study was to deliver an overview of construction delays in order to classify the main groups of delays and compare the UAE construction industry with international studies. In total, 14 groups were found to contribute to causing construction delays. Studies of the global and UAE construction industry are in agreement that the leading group of factors that affect project completion are management factors; then, the second group comprises financial factors.
Contractors have given importance to risks in the construction process as it causes time and cost overrun, delays, and total desertion in activities and events present in the construction project. The uncertainty in the completion time, cost, and quality during construction relate to construction risks. Project goals are achieved by classifying, investigating, and replying to risks associated with construction projects. To achieve project objectives, team competency and skills are required, which are viewed as attitude, aptitude, versatility, and knowledge. Based on organisation control theory, current research (quantitative in nature) discusses the influence of team competency and skills on construction risk management with the moderation role of government Acts, laws, and policies among 303 large-size contractors working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia using PLS-SEM technique. PLS-SEM is a composite-based approach that provides high efficiency parameter estimation with increased statistical power for analyzing complex models. Results depict that government Acts, laws and policies and team competency and skills positively influence construction risk management. In addition, moderation of government Acts, laws, and policies has positive relation among team competency and skills and construction risk management. Organisational management can reduce risk occurrence within a project by building conditions for enhancing team competency and skills.
Residential land prices are crucial for any country's economy and development. There is, therefore, the need to identify factors affecting the increase in the overall land prices as a first step toward accurately evaluating land assets. This research aims to find the factors affecting residential property prices worldwide by analysing 185 publications from 2000 to 2022. This research is conducted on secondary sources whereby reviews, data analysis was made from previous studies. These studies were published and found in journals, conferences, articles, and theses. The aim is to identify the twenty most common factors affecting residential land price increase. Although previous studies focused on residential land prices, there have yet to be a consensus on a comprehensive list of factors affecting residential property prices.
The Internet is a relatively recent endeavor that has continued without conclusion for a considerable length of time, growing in importance to individuals, organizations, and governments everywhere until we finally settled on the term Internet of Things (IoT) to describe its ubiquitous application of multiple technologies across all spheres of human endeavor. In addition, the variety of IoT applications and use cases expands annually. There will be a need for this trend to grow substantially in order to satisfy the enormous amount of demand. Whether or not an IoT application is successful, simple to deploy, and user-friendly depends on a number of things. Based on research on the causes of success and failure in the implementation of IoT, it has become clear that most studies focus on either success factors alone or failure factors alone; this paper aims to bridge that gap by discussing the factors that contribute to the Internet of Things' success and the factors that lead to its failure, both of which aid in the technology's growth and dissemination and provide guidance to experts in the field.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
