Abstract
Introduction: Patients frequently use YouTube to obtain information about their conditions and possible treatment options. Inguinal hernia is one of the most common surgical diseases among the general population. This study aims to evaluate the quality of videos about groin hernia on Youtube.
Materials and Methods: The videos are sorted according to the number of views after searching for "groin hernia" on YouTube on 8.12.2021. The study was performed on the videos selected from the top 50 most-watched videos. Two independent reviewers reviewed all videos for relevance and content. In addition, the descriptive characteristics of each video (upload date, number of views, likes and dislikes, and comments below the video) were recorded in the dataset. DISCERN, GQS, and JAMA rating scales were used to evaluate the quality of the videos.
