Background: Ki-67 is a proliferation marker that is used not only to categorize patients in luminal A and B subtypes of breast cancers, but also to determine the aggressiveness of the disease in triple negative and human epidermal growth factor 2 (HER2) over expressed molecular subtypes. The present study was designed to evaluate the role of Ki-67 with cut off value of 14% in molecular subgroups and its association with patient prognosis. Methods: Immunostaining was performed on histopathologically confirmed sections (n = 278) to assess expression of Ki-67, estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR) and HER2. Immunoreactivity of molecules was recorded as percentage scoring. Results: Adopting a cut off value of 14%, Ki-67 was high in 88%of the cases included in the study. High Ki-67 was significantly associated with pathological parameters including histological grade, advanced stage and nodal/distant metastasis. Immunoexpression of ER, PR and HER2 also showed strong correlation with high expression of Ki-67. Based on the St. Gallen classification, the cases were categorized into luminal A (10%) and luminal B (51%), triple negative (20%) and HER2 enriched (18%). Ki-67 index was also significantly high in 98% of HER2 enriched and 95% of TNBC patients. Interestingly, Ki-67 score with cut off value of 14% proved to be significant in deciphering prognosis in luminal patients. Moreover, high expression of Ki-67 also proved to be a marker of poor prognosis, especially in triple negative patients. Conclusion: We suggest that utilization of IHC4 status i.e. ER, PR, HER2 and Ki-67 along with pathological findings and molecular subtyping can considerably affect clinical as well as therapeutic decisions.
The Internet of vehicles (IoVs) is an innovative paradigm which ensures a safe journey by communicating with other vehicles. It involves a basic safety message (BSM) that contains sensitive information in a plain text that can be subverted by an adversary. To reduce such attacks, a pool of pseudonyms is allotted which are changed regularly in different zones or contexts. In base schemes, the BSM is sent to neighbors just by considering their speed. However, this parameter is not enough because network topology is very dynamic and vehicles can change their route at any time. This problem increases pseudonym consumption which ultimately increases communication overhead, increases traceability and has high BSM loss. This paper presents an efficient pseudonym consumption protocol (EPCP) which considers the vehicles in the same direction, and similar estimated location. The BSM is shared only to these relevant vehicles. The performance of the purposed scheme in contrast to base schemes is validated via extensive simulations. The results prove that the proposed EPCP technique outperformed compared to its counterparts in terms of pseudonym consumption, BSM loss rate and achieved traceability.
PurposeThis research aimed to investigate absorptive capacity's (AC) mediating effect among four important organizational factors, namely transformational leadership (TL), innovative culture (IC), organizational structure (OS), organizational climate (OC)) and competitive advantage (CA).Design/methodology/approachA survey method was used for data collection and 107 valid responses were received from managers and top executives of different hotels operating in Pakistan. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) statistical techniques were used to analyze the data and test the hypotheses.FindingsThe findings infer that OC positively affects CA by improving AC in an organization. Furthermore, AC was found as a partial mediator for the relationship among TL and CA as well as for the relationship among IC and CA.Originality/valueDespite the abundance of research on AC, the empirical studies regarding Ac's mediating effect among various organizational factors and CA are limited. Therefore, this paper makes a noteworthy contribution to the body of knowledge by testing the mediating effect of AC among various organizational factors and CA with reference to hospitality sector in Pakistan.
