This case study attempts to identify the reasons for high turnover of academic staff in private higher institutions especially in small colleges. Three small colleges that shared almost the same type of background were being selected to participate in this study. The academic coordinator from these three institutions was interviewed. This case study has been adapted into qualitative method in order to discover any new elements that are able to explain the lower retention rate among academic staff in private college. The findings indicate that there are several factors that spearhead to failure in retaining academic staff in private higher institution including task and work load, conflict of role, underpaid, and other intrinsic factors. In addition, this study has drawn some suggestions to small colleges to retain academic staff and to Malaysian Quality Accreditation to monitor and regulate turnover rate of academic staff in small colleges.
Teachers’ readiness, knowledge and attitudes level towards inclusive education in mainstream schools were explored as they were tasked to carry out this responsibility. They must ensure success of inclusive education which actually depended heavily on their readiness in inclusive classes, teachers’ knowledge level and attitude towards teaching inclusion classes. This research study aimed to explore teachers’ readiness level in inclusive classes, teachers’ knowledge level and attitude towards teaching inclusive classes in primary and secondary schools in the district of Sibu, Sarawak. The sample size for this study consisted of 154 respondents. This study explored specifically into the teachers’ readiness, knowledge and attitude level towards inclusion in the classrooms. The method used for this research was descriptive survey approach. Identified teachers involved directly in teaching and supervising students with special educational needs (SEN) in the inclusive classrooms were provided with survey questionnaire. Fully completed questionnaire were collected from respective schools through self-collection, post or email. The data collected was analysed for descriptive and inferential statistics, percentages, t-test and ANOVA using SPSS (version 22). The outcome of the findings was discussed according to the objectives and research questions of the study. This outcome of this study showed high readiness level among teachers, high knowledge level among teachers and positive attitudes of teachers toward inclusive education. At the same time, the study also found out that there are strong positive correlation between teachers’ readiness, knowledge and attitude level. This research is conducted in order to evaluate the purpose of studying the customer relationship practices and customer satisfaction in PHEI that offers undergraduate degrees in Malaysia. According to the results obtained, it proves that CRM practices contain more positive effect on its customer satisfaction. The sample size used was only focused on PHEI that offer undergraduate programmes in Malaysia. According to the research conducted, there are few limitations that disclose the exact relationship between CRM and Customer Satisfaction. Education industry has become one of the major growing industries in Malaysia with various numbers of competitors. Thus, this study allows policy makers of PHEI to focus and implement CRM practices that would have an increase of direct positive impact of satisfaction for their customers. The study conducted also helps to evaluate not only CRM and satisfaction but also evaluate the effect of the Gender and Age Group factors that reflects on the relationship.
