With the emergence of the digital age, smart healthcare services based on the new generation of information technologies play an increasingly important role in improving the quality of resident health. This study empirically examined the impact of regional smart healthcare services on resident health as well as the underlying mechanism by employing a two-way fixed effects model. We constructed a Regional Smart Healthcare Service Development Index and matched it with survey data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study to validate the model. The results showed that (1) smart healthcare services have a significant positive impact on resident health. (2) The availability of outpatient services and inpatient services plays a mediating role in the relationship between regional smart healthcare services and resident health. (3) The influence of regional smart healthcare services on resident health is heterogeneous among different regions. Specifically, the effect of smart healthcare services on resident health is significant in the eastern regions, while it is not significant in the central, western, and northeastern regions. The effect of smart healthcare services on resident health is significant in rural regions but not in urban regions. This study enriches the nascent research stream of smart healthcare services. This study offers useful insights for practitioners and the government to guide them in formulating smart healthcare strategies.
Carbon/glass fiber-reinforced polymer hybrid composite (HFRP) has the advantages of a light weight and high strength. For the lightweight design of automobile parts, composite parts made of HFRP and polymer materials are increasingly in demand. The method of the injection molding is usually adopted to fabricate composite part with HFRP and polymer materials. The connecting strength between the two materials has an important influence on the service life of the composite part. In this paper, HFRP and polyamide-6 (PA6) were used to fabricate a composite part by the injection molding method. In order to improve the connecting strength between HFRP and PA6, a kind of micro-grooves was fabricated on the HFRP surface. The micro-grooves on the surface of the HFRP provided sufficient adhesion and infiltrating space of molten PA6 material into the mold. In addition, the glass fiber in HFRP can also be used as nucleating agent to facilitate the rapid crystallization of PA6. The micro-grooves on the surface of HFRP were embedded into PA6 like nails, which could improve the connecting strength at the interface effectively. The paper investigated the effects of mold temperature, injection pressure, holding pressure and holding time on the injection quality and connecting strength of composite parts in detail. With a mold temperature of 240 °C, an injection pressure of 8 MPa, a holding pressure of 8 MPa and a holding time of 3 s, the maximum tensile strength of 10.68 MPa was obtained for the composite part. At the effect of micro-grooves, the tensile strength of the composite part could be increased by 126.27%.
Having good mental health means we are better able to connect, function, cope and thrive. The widespread application of digital technology in daily life provides new ways and promising tools for residents to maintain their mental health. Given the importance of mental health for everyone, and the fact that mental health problems are prevalent worldwide, this study discusses how digital lives affects the mental health of residents. The results suggest that digital lives are significantly and positively associated with mental health. Mechanisms analysis identifies personal perceptions (self-rated physical exercise and subjective wellbeing) as the important paths for digital lives to promote mental health, while social perceptions (social trust and social fairness) play a suppressing effect on the relationship between them. The results of further discussion show that the degree of the influence of digital lives on mental health of individuals is heterogeneous among different regions. Due to the difference in development level, the positive impact of digital lives is greater in urban areas than in rural areas, and it is stronger in western regions than in eastern and central regions. This study enriches the nascent research stream of digitalization, explores new paths of harnessing digital technologies for mental health, and offers useful insights for the government to guide them in formulating digital development strategies and achieving the Healthy China Strategy.
The rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020 has impacted the politics, economy and society of countries around the world. The public health diplomacy system through which developed countries in Europe and America used to provide vertical one-way assistance to developing countries faces huge challenges. How emerging economies can cooperate to fight the pandemic on the basis of mutual trust and mutual benefit has become an urgent issue. In this paper, we examine the impact of political mutual trust on the effectiveness of pandemic prevention and control from the perspective of establishing strategic partnerships between emerging economies. Furthermore, taking into account the huge differences between emerging economies, this paper explores institutional distance, cultural distance, and geographical distance—the adjustment effect of the control effect. Studies have shown that the improvement of political mutual trust is conducive to the formation of a community of shared futures between countries and has a positive effect on curbing the spread of the pandemic. The increase of the three-dimensional distance of institutions, culture, and geography will weaken the effect of establishing strategic partners for pandemic prevention and control. This paper explores a new model of horizontal international cooperation among emerging economies, and provides a reference for emerging economies to deal with common globalization issues in the future.
