Single bulb black garlic is a fermented product of single-bulb garlic for 30 days with a certain temperature and humidity. It experiences a Maillard reaction and has an increased content of active compounds. Single bulb black garlic contains secondary metabolites in the form of flavonoids, tannins, and saponins which have the potential as antioxidants so that they can inhibit free radicals and can be used as a substitute for synthetic antioxidants. Single bulb black garlic is formulated as an antioxidant lotion to facilitate its use. The objective of this study is to determine the optimal antioxidant activity in a lotion preparation containing single bulb black garlic on DPPH, to find out the concentration of single bulb black garlic which is effective as an antioxidant in a lotion preparation and to find out the best physical properties as a lotion preparation. This type of research is experimental research. Single bulb black garlic is formulated in four lotion formulas with concentrations of FI (0%), FII (1%), FIII (5%), and FIV (10%). Then, the antioxidant activity was tested on DPPH and IC50 values were calculated on the formula of 250.59 ppm, 118.77 ppm, 96 ppm, and 70.17 ppm, and physical evaluation was tested to discover results that met the physical requirements of lotion preparations (adhesion, organoleptic, homogeneity, lotion type, spread ability, viscosity, and pH). Statistical test results showed a significant difference in each group on antioxidant activity (p<0.05). The conclusion of this study found that a single bulb black garlic concentration of 10% had optimal antioxidant effectivity; the four formulas produced showed optimal antioxidant activity and the FII formula showed the best physical properties of the lotion.
ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian Sediaan Nanopartikel Kitosan Ekstrak Etanol Rosela (SNKEER) terhadap profil lipid tikus galur Sprague Dawley yang diinduksi hiperkolesterol. Pembuatan SNKEER dilakukan berdasarkan hasil optimasi dengan perbandingan 2:1:1/10 (ekstrak etanol rosela (EER) : kitosan : TPP), selanjutnya dilakukan uji in vivo dengan menggunakan Tikus putih betina galur Sprague Dawley (SD) umur 6-8 minggu sejumlah 25 ekor dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok, yaitu kelompok I (K1) adalah kelompok kontrol diberi pakan standar; kelompok II (K2) diinduksi hiperkolesterol; serta kelompok III (3), IV (4), dan V (5) diinduksi hiperkolesterol dan SNKEER masing-masing dengan dosis 25, 50, dan 100 mg/kgBB, selama 30 hari. Pada hari ke 31 semua hewan uji diambil darahnya melalui vena orbitalis mata untuk dilakukan pengukuran profil lipid (Kolesterol Total, kadar LDL, HDL, Trigliserida). Analisis yang dilakukan terhadap penelitian ini adalah One Way Analisis Of Variance (ANOVA) dengan uji lanjutan Tukey 5 %. Hasil penelitian rata-rata pengukuran profil lipid adalah sebagai berikut : pada pengukuran Kolesterol K1, K2, K3, K4,K5 berturut-turut yaitu 106,76; 233,45; 197,63; 158,61; 133,94 mg/dl, Trigliserida : 73,33; 125,51; 107,97; 90,43; 80,87 mg/dl, HDL: 44,41; 14,45; 18,19; 23,68; 30,90mg/dl , LDL: 51,58; 72,24; 63,16; 54,61; 51,84 mg/dl. Hasil dari analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kelompok SNKEER dosis (25, 50, 100 mg/kgBB) dapat berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perbaikan profil lipid terutama dalam menurunkan kadar kolesterol total, trigliserida, dan kadar LDL serta dapat meningkatkan kadar HDL secara signifikan bila dibandingkan dengan kelompok hiperkolesterol (K2). Adapun kelompok perlakuan yang memberikan hasil perbaikan profil lipid terbaik adalah kelompok SNKEER dosis 100 mg/kgBB bila dibandingkan dengan semua kelompok perlakuan (P<0,05).Kata kunci : Rosela, Nanopartikel, Hiperkolesterol, Profil lipid ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to determine the effect of chitosan nanoparticles preparation Ethanol Extract Roselle (SNKEER) on the lipid profile of Sprague Dawley rat strain-induced hypercholesterolemia. Propolis (Trigona sp) yang mudah dijumpai diIndonesia. Propolis merupakan bahan obat tradisional yang telah digunakan sejak lama. Kandungan molekul farmakologi yang aktif dalam propolis diantaranya flavonoid dan phenolik acid serta ester. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan membuat sediaan lulur dengan memanfaatkan bahan alam untuk dijadikan formulasi lulur. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental. Pembuatan formulasi lulur menggunakan ekstrak propolis dan kulit lidah buaya dengan konsentrasi 2,5 %, 5%, 10%, dan kontrol negative terhadap sediaan meliputi uji organoleptis , uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji viskositas, uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat, uji hedonik,. Formulasi sediaan lulur menggunakan ekstrak propolis menunjukkan hasil organoleptik seperti bau yang khas, menunjukkan warna yang dihasilkan yaitu warna coklatan serta bentuk krim, formula yang paling disukai dari hasil uji kesukaan (hedonik) yaitu formula dengan konsentrasi 5%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak propolis dapat digunakan sebagai lulur perawatan tubuh.
