The purpose of the research was to develop a prediction method to prevent disruption related to temperature anomaly in the cold chain supply. The analysed data covers the period of the entire working cycle of the thermal container. In the research, automatic Big Data analysis and mathematical modelling were used to identify the disruption. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) was used to predict possible temperature-related disruption in transport. The provided research proves that it is possible to prevent over 82% of disruptions in the cold chain. The ANN enables analyses of the temperature curve and prediction of the disruption before it occurs. The research is limited to coolbox transportation of food under -20o C, but the method could also be used for Full Transport Load (FTL) in refrigerated transport. The research is based on real data, and the developed method helps to reduce the waste in the cold chain, improve transport quality and supply chain resilience. The presented method enables not only to avoid cold chain breaks but also to reduce product damage as well as improve the transport process. It could be used by cargo forwarders, Third-Party Logistics (3PL) companies to reduce costs and waste. The literature review confirms that there is no similar method to prevent disruption in the transport chain. The use of the Internet of Things (IoT) sensors for collecting data connected with Big Data analysis and ANN enables chain resilience provision.
This article deliberates on the topic of managing the organization’s creativity. Attempts have been made to define this concept with regard to its various dimensions. In order to refer to the practice of the above issues was presented and discussed in detail the methodology of Design Thinking. Its essence is brought down to the search for creative solutions to business and social problems. It includes various entities, including consumers, in finding the answers to these various issues, which contributes to better meeting their needs. The last part of this study illustrates three case studies presenting the possibilities of creative problem-solving related to the activity in the municipal services industry. Two first case studies refer to the previously mentioned Design Thinking method. In contrast, the third case study is an example of the creative approach of a company dealing with a selective waste collection for the needs of the disabled people. It is also an example of social innovation and open innovation.
The problem of object localization in indoor environments is very important in order to make a company effective and to detect disruption in the logistics system in real-time. Present research investigates how the IoT (Internet of Things) location system based on Bluetooth can be implemented for this solution. The location based on the Bluetooth is hard to predict. Radio wave interference in this frequency is affected by other devices, steel, vessels containing water, and more. However, proper data processing and signal stabilization can increase the accuracy of the location. To be sure that the location system based on the BT (Bluetooth) can be implemented for real cases, an analysis of signal strength amplitude and disruption was made. The paper presents R&D (Research and Development) works with a practical test in real cases. The signal strength fluctuation for the receiver is between 7 and 10 dBm for ESP32 device and between 13 and 14 dBm for Raspberry. For commercial implementation the number of devices scanned in the time window is also important. For Raspberry, the optimal time window is 5 s; in this time six transmitters can be detected. ESP32 has a problem with detecting devices in a short time, as just two transmitters can be detected in 4–8 s time window. Localisation precision depends on the distance between transmitter and receiver, and the angle from the axis of the directional antenna. For the distance of 10 m the measurement error is 1.2–6.1 m, whilst for the distance of 40 m the measurement error is 4.9 to 24.6 m. Using a Kalman filter can reduce the localization error to 1.5 m.
The precariat is a new social category that exists in all countries around the world and consists of people who work in the gig economy and/or are employed under civil law contracts. One of the key factors that determines membership of the precariat is the uncertainty felt by individuals in the labour market as a result of, inter alia, being employed on flexible forms. The research aim of this article is to define the specificity of the Polish precariat and their sense of social security in the context of the current employment support and social policy of the Polish government. The utilitarian goal is to evaluate the Polish Deal programme currently proposed by the Polish government in terms of its strengths and weaknesses in order to reduce the precariat phenomenon and boost the Polish precariat's sense of social security. The article also attempts to demonstrate the effects of actions taken by the Polish government since 2015, which were aimed at improving the situation on the precariat labour market. In order to determine the extent to which the current government in Poland affects the social security of the precariat and satisfies their needs by taking social welfare action and implementing indirect operations related to education, a questionnaire was used, conducted via the Internet, involving a survey panel of respondents. In this study, a stratified-quota sample selection was used, corresponding to the proportions of people working on the basis of various flexible forms of fixed-term employment and self-employment.One thousand respondents employed on flexible terms participated in the study. The study was carried out at the turn of March/April 2021.
The article deals with the promotion of pro-ecological initiatives addressed to residents of the municipality. It presents a concept of promotion, its basic instruments and conditions in relation to conducting this activity by Local Government Units. An attempt was made to refer these issues to the ecological aspects of the functioning of municipalities. Conducted considerations in this area are illustrated by examples of promotional activities in the field of ecology in the Mikołów municipality.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
