Water vapor plays a major role in the process of radiation, cloud formation, energy exchange within a system, and remains a key component of the Earth's atmosphere. The purpose of this study is to examine the water vapor content of the troposphere over Europe and the Northern Atlantic. Both temporal and spatial differences were examined for total column water vapor (TCWV) and vertically integrated water vapor flux (IWVF) based on ERA-Interim reanalysis data. The statistical relationship between circulation patterns, as expressed by empirical orthogonal function (EOF) modes, and TCWV were examined, as were statistical relationships between distinguished advection types and TCWV and IWVF. The study confirmed the significance of atmospheric circulation in the formation of moisture content in the winter season (i.e., January) and its markedly lower impact in other seasons. The relationships noted in the study are characterized by statistically significant spatial differentiation. Spatial pattern analysis was used to identify six regions with different moisture content over the course of the year. The boundaries of the regions confirm the significant role of local factors impacting moisture content.
More than 80 percent of all eyeglasses worn today have plastic lenses. Plastic lenses made of polycarbonate discs are created through the process of machining which requires the use of a coolant. During the production process, the rotating disc and blade are poured with a mixture of water and synthetic coolant to remove the resulting chips and cool the blade and discs. The ensuing wastewater contains chips, water and coolant. The chips are separated by filtration and the water and coolant are returned to the machine tool. Due to the low particle weight some of the plastic dust flotates easily and creates foam. If there is too much foamed dust, a skimmer is added. In order to avoid machine damage and product quality deterioration, the mixture in circulation is changed every 24 hours. This mixture is wastewater with a high COD value of 11 200 - 20800 mg/L, a turbidity of 260-870 NTU, and a colour of about 200 mg/L. For their treatment, a coagulation process using mainly aluminum coagulants and advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) used of Fenton reagents were applied.
By focusing on a passage in Philip Roth’s book, this paper strives to outline how conspiratorial beliefs can have a therapeutic function for the community which has experienced a traumatic event. Fictitious groups depicted in such texts serve as the ultimate causes of humanity’s misgivings: from natural disasters and diseases that plague it to the inherent flaws of political and social systems. Such beliefs, however, are likely to become as dangerous as the cure, a threat Roth hints at in his work. The second part of the paper will look at the viability of conspiracism as a means to address traumatizing issues, in the context of the postmodern condition and the diffusion of motifs until recently present only in the radical texts of popular culture
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
