PET/MR imaging is clinically feasible for the early detection of cardiac involvement in patients with AFD. Further studies evaluating the role of hybrid PET/MR imaging in management of the disease in larger patient populations are warranted.
Erdheim-Chester disease (ECD) is a rare form of non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis, characterized by the involvement of several organs. The lesions may be skeletal or extra-skeletal: in particular, long bones, skin, lungs, and the cardiovascular and the central nervous systems can be affected. In this report, we describe a case of a 34-year-old man, who came to our observation with symptomatic ECD, for a correct assessment of the degree of cardiac involvement through magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Pancreatic injuries can occur from either penetrating or blunt abdominal trauma. While there are rare, especially in the setting of blunt abdominal trauma, they are associated with a mortality of up to 30%, and a morbidity of 60%. Multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) is the preferred imaging modality in patients with acute blunt abdominal trauma and for the detection of acute pancreatic injury. Magnetic resonance (MR) and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) plays an important role in the follow-up of pancreatic injury. In this brief review, we discuss the main MDCT acute imaging findings as well as the complications. Finally, we discuss the role of MR and MRCP in follow up of patients with pancreatic injuries.
The presence of axillary enlarged lymph nodes in the follow-up of a woman with a history of breast cancer should always be thoroughly indagated. Dermatopathic lymphadenopathy presents a specific pathologic pattern found within the lymph nodes and is usually associated with cutaneous rashes. Patients with various skin conditions can develop regional lymphadenopathy, which can result in the asymptomatic enlargement of the lymph nodes, especially in the inguinal, axillary and cervical regions. Dermatopathic lymphadenopathy should be considered in the differential diagnosis also in patients with minimal cutaneous findings. Dermatopathic lymphadenopathy is a benign process and management of these patients consists in simple clinical, mammographic and ultrasonographic follow-up.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
