We present organic thin film transistors (OTFT) with leakage currents below 10 -17 A/µm and compare them to existing TFT technologies. The impact of low leakage on the dynamic range of an optical sensor was modelled to demonstrate its benefit to the performance of 500ppi device.
A well‐known method of increasing the contrast of an LCD is to use a dual cell. FlexEnable's low temperature organic TFT process allows us to work directly with polarisers as substrates. This reduces the gap between the cells to previously unreachable levels, allowing pixel level dimming and OLED‐like contrast from a simpler stack.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
