Participatory engagement strategies might help to address identified psychosocial outcomes. More rigorous qualitative methods are required to ensure accuracy of findings.

This article is a brief report about an initiative started by Syrian mental health professionals. The authors, who were refugees, not only survived, but also established a very active and effective nongovernmental organization that serves both the refugee community and the host community.
