A targeted research on the oxidative desulfurization of kerosene with a total sulfur content of 1,600 ppmw was conducted with hydrogen peroxide and formic acid. The influences of various operating parameters, including reaction temperature, hydrogen peroxide/sulfur molar ratio (O/S), and formic acid/sulfur molar ratio (Acid/S), on the desulfurization of kerosene were investigated. The appropriate conditions were found to be the reaction temperature D 60 ı C, O/S D 5, and Acid/S D 30. The achieved desulfurization of oxidative desulfurization process under these appropriate conditions was found to be 91.8, 97.4, and 99.3% using 1, 2, and 5 extraction stages, respectively.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
