The chemical composition of the essential oil of Artemisia scoparia Waldst et Kit, growing wild in Kashan, Iran, was analysed by GC and GC-MS. Fifteen compounds, constituing 99% of the total components detected, were identified. Among them 1-phenyl-penta-2,4-diyne (30.9%), β β β β β-pinene (23.3%), limonene (10.2%) and (E)-β β β β β-osimene (9.7%) were the major components of the oil, which was obtained in 0.96% yield.
