Universal health coverage (UHC) is one of the major health policy objectives to achieve a Nation’s sustainable development. This goal is achieved when all citizens in the country enjoy the highest standards of healthcare at no or low cost. Many countries around the world have achieved UHC through a national health insurance framework and have an extensive range of risks funded by government revenue and contributions from both employers and employees. This study examines the feasibility of developing a National Health Insurance System (NHIS) as a way to achieve UHC in Saudi Arabia. It also highlights the potential role of health insurance in health coverage, improving the quality of care, and use of healthcare. Although establishing a NHIS poses many challenges, addressing them makes it feasible to provide and finance healthcare in the country.
Total Quality Management Practices (TQMP) have been known to promote the performance of firms in terms of services, processes and products to meet customers' expectations. This paper examined the effect of TQMP factors on competitiveness of the construction firms in Saudi Arabia. The data for the study were gathered from managers of five major Saudi construction firms through interview schedules and questionnaires. Correlation and regression analysis were used to study the relationship between TQMP factors and competitiveness. The results of analysis indicated a significant positive relationship between the entire TQMP factors and competitiveness; specifically, between TQM practices and quality culture. The study indicated that construction firms in the country should address all major issues related to TQMP to remain competitive in the face of dynamic globalization, internal competition and threat of new entrants.
(1) Background: Communication is the main issue between the patient and physician. Communication gaps lead to medical errors, mistakes, and wrong diagnoses and treatments. It would certainly be a cause of patient dissatisfaction, the physicians’ job dissatisfaction, and the increase in the cost of health services. (2) Objectives: The objective of the study was to explore the perception of Saudi patients when they meet non-Saudi consultants at hospitals. (3) Material and Methods: This study is exploratory in nature. Semi-structured face to face interviews were conducted. Study participants were patients from the outpatient department of the Hospitals of Qassim province, Saudi Arabia. A total of eight respondents, four male and four female, participated in the study. (4) Results: Interviews were transcribed verbatim and analyzed using a thematic analysis approach. Two main themes emerged: the first theme is encountering difference, with three sub-themes, while the second one is the absence of partnering, with four sub-themes. (5) Conclusions: The analysis of the patients’ experiences of their medical encounters revealed that the effectiveness of the physician-patient communication was jeopardized by two challenges: encountering differences and the absence of partnering. (6) Limitations: This study was conducted in one site only and hence findings must be tested in application to other sites in other parts of Saudi Arabia and in other similar countries. A further limitation of this study was the cultural barrier that was encountered by the researcher during the interview process.
The academic performance of dyslexic students’ needs a lot of attention both from teachers as well as parents. Teachers must be well trained and have the expertise to carefully manage the class of dyslexic students. For this purpose, identifying dyslexic students, classroom management teacher-parent participation and awareness could play an important role in enhancing the academic performance of dyslexic students. The current study aims to investigate the indirect effects of awareness on the relationship between identifying dyslexic students, classroom management teacher-parent participation, and academic performance of students. Nonprobability convenience sampling was used. 372 participants participated in the survey. AMOS-SEM was used for data analysis. Measurement and structural models were developed. It was found that all the scales were found reliable and valid. Moreover, all the direct and indirect relationships were also found positive and significant. Awareness and teacher-parent participation were found most dominant factors on basis of beta values.
The objective of the study to investigate the impact of digital literacy on the healthcare employee’s performance. The used study theoretical network approach to conceptualize the topic from review of the previous studies whereas, a quantitative deductive cross sectional survey was employed for primary data administering 07 point scales from HEIs in Pakistan. Pilot study was conducted to establish the reliability and validity of scales inter alia determining the sample size, i.e. 163. The study found significant t-value for TDL while for rest of the group’s ADL, UDL, and EX, it was found insignificant. This study discloses partial mediation by ADL between TDL, UDL and TDL between ADL and UDL. The relation of TDL & EP was insignificant. Full mediation was found for TDL on relationship between UDL and EP. The study also reveals full mediation for ADL for UDL and EP while no mediating effect of UDL was found for ADL and EP. Out of seven mediation models, three emerged with full mediation while three were rejected because of insignificance. One model did partial mediation. The findings suggest the use of customization of digital technology in accordance with the native conditions.
