The authors designed and fabricated a new frequency selective surface (FSS) based on non‐resonant elements. Unlike other FSSs, which use aperture element this one utilises patch element to achieve band‐pass response. Simulation shows that the new FSS has a large bandwidth and a stable response regarding to the change of incident angle.
measured S-parameter of the DUT, including the non-ideal characteristics of the test equipment and the parasitic effects of on-wafer probe pad and associated interconnection. The GaAs pHEMT device with the CB-CPW TL structure is examined to show the validity of the one-tier de-embedding approach up to 90 GHz. The proposed method and the measured results would be very useful for device characterization and modeling of RFIC designs.ABSTRACT: In this article, a novel method is introduced to design a high efficiency and broadband reflectarray. Several techniques will be introduced for designing wideband reflectarray. First, by using fractal ring unit cell with 700 phase range; second, by smoothing phase Figure 4 Measurement results for a GaAs pHEMT DUT biased at V GS ¼ À0.4 V and V DS ¼ 3.0 V for (a) input reflection, (b) forward transmission, (c) reverse transmission, and (d) output reflection. Compared with other techniques, it is expected that the smallest size and the lowest cost for implementing this will be achieved in the real network. V C 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
