This degree project studies the island mode microgrids or isolated microgrids of the National Interconnected System (SIN, for its acronym in Spanish) as an alternative to supply the energy demand of users located in rural areas designated as Non-Interconnected Zones (ZNI), for its acronym in Spanish) of the department of Cauca in Colombia.The motivation for the project arises from understanding a social problem and wanting to find a solution through renewable energy resources that is reliable, economically viable and efficient for the environment.
