During low-flow sevoflurane anesthesia, intake of Compound A reached 277 +/- 120 ppm-h, but the effect on the kidney and the liver was the same in high-flow sevoflurane and low-flow isoflurane anesthesia.
The plasma inorganic fluoride concentrations observed in patients undergoing cardiac surgery were below nephrotoxic levels. However, the decrease in mean fluoride concentration after anesthesia was slower than that in the previous study in general surgical patients.
