In continuation to our search of fullerenes in usual soots, sixteen additional samples of Chinese ink stick have been analyzed by HPLC. When combined with our previous results, we recognize that &,-content in Chinese ink sticks decreases with time following the first order rate law. This novel observation was interpreted in terms of diffusion-dissipation of C, molecules through the solid stick.

-070Regioselective Allylation and Alkylation of Electron-Deficient Alkenes with Organogallium and Organoindium Reagents.α,β-Unsaturated nitrile and/or carbonyl compounds react with triorganogallium or indium reagents to give the 1,4-addition products selectively. A similar methylation of the electron-deficient alkenes (Ia), (Ib) is achieved with trimethylgallium. On the other hand, allylgallium or allylindium sesquihalides, generated from allyl halide and gallium (or indium) metal, react with α,β unsaturated carbonyl compounds such as (IIb) to form a 1,2-adduct [cf. (XI)], whereas the nitrile (IIa) reacts in the 1,4-mode. -(ARAKI, SHUKI; HORIE,
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
