Abstruct--In order to reduce the decrease of head output level during running, the wear recession formed on a composite material and MIG heads with various ferrite crystallographic orientations was investigated. It was found that wear recess depends mainly on the wear rate iatio Gf materhls, and that the decrease in output level was in proportion to the spacing loss due to the formation of a level difference at the interface between the metal and the ferritr core. However the decrease measured using different kind talle from the running tape was also effected by the'unfltness between head and tape. We also found that the damage caused to ME tape depends on the ferrite orientation of the head. ferrite amorphous metal
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
