At this time the control of the light switch in most homes is still controlled manually by pressing the on/off switch button. Lights in or around the house are often turned on first when traveling for a long time, because the homeowner cannot control the lights remotely. This results in an increase in the cost of electricity consumption. This paper presents a tool that can automatically control the on/off light switch remotely, using an SMS gateway and using an IDR sensor. The test tool uses four lamps, each lamp can operate automatically for parts that use SMS commands in the living room, bedroom and kitchen. For the terrace lights using the LDR sensor, at 6.30 the lights will turn off and at 18.30 the lights will turn on automatically, so they can save electricity use when the house is being lived by residents. These lights can be controlled remotely.

Keywords: Prototype, Automatic Switch, SMS Gateway, LDR Sensor
